after SOCORRO and LA CRUZ....COPPER CANYON TRIP

Hi All...LEXI HAS MOVED TO MAZATLAN....great to be back in the Centro Historico...
Friends Glenn and Sharon of Casa de Lejendes B and B and the usual Plaza Machado scene.

Due to great info from my fellow cruisers....I am feelancing a trip to Copper Canyon.
Left the sailboat MED moored at Club Nautico...Mazatlan...electric, supervision and 50 pesos a night!!
Then 6 hr bus to Los Mochis...and 2 hr bus to El Fuerte
I found a room in a private home in El Fuerte...150p with AC
Here in CREEEEEEL I tried the Hotel Nuevo...just up hill from the train station...
The senora Josephina is running it ...27 rooms....just as she has since 1959.
perhaps 1 other room taken now...did I say QUIET!!__
neg 500p for 3 nights....no meals....Husband died in 03....yup... they were the first hotel here...
clean, nice... big and small bed....private bath...

Rented a bike today....22 km 90pesos...saw the nearby indian sites, rock formations and cave residence.
100p of souvenir baskets, drums, neckwear...
we are at 8000 ft here and I[m pooped!
The 2nd class train ride was fun...like thru the old west 1850...but air cond!!
I look forward to brother Bill arriving 16 June so we can both see Guaymus for the first time..
Adios mis amigos!
